Watters Garden Center in Prescott is still offering free gardening classes every Saturday in August. Learn all about trees, how to plant large trees, how to create a great evergreen garden, and more. Get all the best information at this month's gardening classes.
August class lineup is here!
August 3rd, 9:30am: Large tree planting successful
Privacy, shade, color, evergreens, flowers. There will be trees for every situation, especially small gardens, including trees for country gardens and trees for tricky locations. A free tree planting guide is provided to all attendees of this class.
August 10th, 9:30am: Creating a beautiful, pest-free garden
Students will learn best practices for javelinas and mice, then quickly move on to solutions for grasshoppers and tomato worms – and be equipped with the tools they need to grow a beautiful garden.
August 17th at 9:30am: Amazing 15 at Evergreen Gardens
Evergreens provide year-round color and privacy, making them the cornerstone of any landscape. These wonderful plants aren't just limited to pine trees – there are many flowering varieties too – and you'll fall in love with your backyard all over again.
August 24th, 9:30am: Gardening for Beginners
New to Arizona or new to gardening? This class is an introductory gardening class for anyone looking to become a gardener. Garden zones, frost dates, best practices and more. After taking this class, you'll be a gardening pro.
Aug. 31, 9:30 a.m.: Top 10 trees and how to plant them
The trees on our list are the best for privacy, shade, evergreens and flowers. We cover trees from every angle. Our tree experts are on hand after class to help with individual tree situations. We provide a free tree planting guide to all students.
The free garden classes will be held every Saturday in June at 9:30 a.m. at Watters Garden Center, 1815 Iron Springs Rd. in Prescott.
