Scarlet Sage Herb Company: Online: Asian American Herbal Medicine: The Restorative Power of Roots by Erin Masako Wilkins

Root medicines are a cornerstone of Asian American herbal medicine. We use roots and herbs to create medicines that increase vitality and strengthen our chi, our source of vitality and life force itself. Chi energy is not only personal to us, but has been passed down to us through our ancestors. Using root medicines also addresses our familial heritage that impacts our daily health and allows us to connect more deeply to our own ancestral roots and stories.
Working with primal herbs and returning to the ancestral roots of herbal medicine gives us unique tools to build resilience in the face of modern culture and all the ways it can rob us of our vitality and identity – our sense of being rooted.
In this class, you will deepen your connection with these special medicinal root plants through storytelling and Qi Gong energy work, an Asian American folk and herbal healing practice, and develop a whole new relationship with the plants.
We personalize these plant teachings, empower you to assess your own internal chi, and help you identify the specific herbs you need to increase the strength of your own unique and ancestral chi. We also teach you recipes to make your own rooted, restorative soups, and create energizing, restorative tea blends using herbs available in your local market.
