Beets are a cool climate crop finest sown immediately in early spring, after the hazard of frost has handed, or in early fall. They’re delicate to acidic soils and like a pH of 6.0-7.0. Plant 3-4 seeds 1/2″ deep and 1-2″ aside in fertile, organically wealthy, well-drained soil. Hold the soil moist for the primary 21 days. As soon as true leaves are established, skinny again to 1 plant each 2-3″. After 45-55 days, beets must be 2-3″ extensive; however they are often harvested earlier if “child” beets are most popular.
