'Potential danger': Vancouver gardener finds grenade

A hand grenade was discovered by a gardener in Vancouver, and the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) determined it posed a potential danger.

Minimal details about the incident were provided by police, which they shared through a post on X.

Police said the person who discovered the “old grenade” was gardening near the Olympic Village.

VPD explosives experts were tasked with inspecting the device along with additional resources. A post to X states that the grenade was found to be dangerous and was “safely destroyed by police.”

After dismantling the device, police are currently investigating.

Police are investigating “how it got there, how long ago and by whom.” All the questions we want to know the answers to,” VPD told X.

Many residents voiced their alarm in response to this post.

“So, could it disappear at any time?” one user asked.

Others asked some questions and stirred the political pot.

Remember when we kicked out the last mayor over tax increases, filth, downtowns, and public safety? How has that really changed?
