Happy gardening! It's great to plant seeds and see seedlings peeking through the soil!

Honestly, this is my favourite time of the year – crisp air, warmer weather, the start of festivals, kids playing outside and of course gardening! Gardening is in full swing at The People's Garden, located behind the Agape Distribution Pantry building at 209 Brooklyn Street, Sydney.

Our local community garden offers tours, gardening instruction, volunteer opportunities, and a natural, tranquil setting to relax in. We have over 50 raised garden beds that we use to plant nutritious foods for Agape Pantry shoppers. Our vision statement, “Plant the seeds of change and harvest hope through community gardening and education,” still rings true 11 years later.

We pride ourselves on growing sustainable produce that supplies Agape's food pantry with vegetables including peas, beans, okra, peppers, yellow squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, dill, etc. We grow organically using repellent plants to keep animals and insects away.

We welcome families, organizations, individuals, and anyone who wants to make a difference in their community. If you are interested, please contact us on Facebook or call Conelia Dixon at 937-726-9525.
