Summer is coming, and while it may not seem like it at the moment, it seems as though it's just around the corner. But while the weather in the UK continues to be disappointing, that means there's still plenty of time to get your grass ready to turn lush and green for the few days of summer we might enjoy.

TikTok user The Lawn Pack shared his top tips on social media, revealing how he transformed his garden from drab to stunning in just four weeks. Sharing some seriously impressive before and after photos, he began listing off the steps he took, which were all carried out on the same day.

He explained that they started by scraping down the lawn to remove excess grass and allow the grass to breathe. This can be done by using a tool to remove tangled grass and moss from the surface of the lawn, lightly opening up the ground to allow air in and improve growth.

This is easy with a manual weed puller, but if you need to remove larger areas, consider using a cordless or gasoline-powered weed puller for extra power.

The TikTok user then spread a “high-quality granular fertilizer” over the entire plot — look for a mix that contains the right amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to nourish nutrient-poor soil.

Next, it's time to sow the actual grass seeds. Experts say they used dwarf rigrass to ensure durability, as it's often used by pets and the general public. After sowing the seeds, they sprinkled on liquid seaweed, explaining that it's “an organic bio-stimulant, helping with root development.”
