“This month's Third Saturday class will focus on the importance of water management in yards and gardens,” said MGHC Vice President Skeeter Gallagher. “In our region, we experience cycles of heavy rains and long droughts that result in too much or too little water. Water management is critical to our environment. Master Gardener Jennifer Dornbusch, an accomplished gardener and teacher, will explain why installing drip irrigation in flower beds during the summer is an efficient, cost-effective method of watering. Master Gardener Bruce Keown, a former stormwater inspector and lawn care professional, will talk about rainwater gardens as an ecologically sound and attractive way to manage water runoff and wet spots in your backyard landscape. The public is invited to join us and learn safe and productive gardening practices.”
