Summer Garden Workshop
What can you do now to keep your garden looking great through fall?
A free hands-on workshop on Saturday, July 20, will show gardeners how to extend the flowering period and keep their annuals, vegetables and roses healthy.
The class, led by Sonoma County Master Gardeners, will also provide tips on controlling weeds, identifying water stress in plants, adjusting irrigation systems and how to sustainably eradicate gophers and other pesky garden invaders.
This event is free and there will be a free compost distribution, so please bring a container. 10 a.m. to noon, Unity Demonstration Garden at Bounty Farm, 55 Shasta Avenue, Petaluma.

Electronic waste recycling event
Zero Waste Sonoma has partnered with Conservation Corps North Bay to host a free electronics recycling event this weekend, July 19-21.
No appointment is needed to collect e-waste. Collection will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm in the parking lot of Lucchesi Park, 320 N. McDowell Blvd, Petaluma. Collection will include working and non-working TVs, office equipment, cell phones, tablets, printers, computers, laptops, stereos, game consoles, cords and microwaves. Fuchsia Sale
Add a splash of color to your garden with new fuchsias.
The Sebastopol Fuchsia Society will hold a sale featuring plants grown by members on July 27. Both hanging baskets for yards and decks and upright baskets in a variety of colors will be for sale. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until plants run out. Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol.
