LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. — Descanso Gardens, located in the tranquil landscape of La Canada Flintridge just outside Los Angeles, has long been beloved for its serene beauty and botanical wonders. But recently, the beloved botanical gardens added a fun new attraction that will captivate visitors of all ages: the Descanso Miniature Railroad.
“At the Descanso Railroad, you'll see seven little trains running on tracks overhead and a depot made from natural materials below,” said Jennifer Errico, spokesperson for Descanso Gardens. “You'll see Grand Central Station in Los Angeles and train stations across Central America.”
The Descanso Miniature Railroad is more than just a new attraction; it pays tribute to the rich history of Descanso Gardens. The original Descanso Trains, a larger-scale model train that operated here for decades, have entertained visitors for generations.
“For almost 30 years we've run a ride train that's been very popular,” Errico said. “You buy a ticket and you ride through the oak trees. It's been so popular that we thought it would be a really fun idea to open up the Descanso Railroad, which includes this mini train.”
