Next time you're ready to start seeds in your garden, consider using paper as a makeshift planter.

All you need is paper, soil, and seeds. According to Cottage Peach, you can use any type of paper, but using unbleached paper will give you the best results.

First, cut the paper into a rectangle and lay it out on a flat surface. Next, apply a thick layer of soil onto the paper, spreading it evenly across the paper.

Use high-quality soil that is rich in nutrients to help seeds germinate.

Once the clay has set, roll the paper into what The Cottage Peach calls a “giant sushi” shape. Tape the edges of the paper down so it won't unravel when held upright.

Sow the seeds in soil and place the seed container in a sunny spot. Cottage Peach recommends keeping the soil moist until the seeds germinate.

“You don't need an expensive seed sower to grow seeds in your garden,” says Cottage Peach. “All you need to grow seeds in your garden is paper.”

Cottage Peach teaches internet users simple, cost-effective ways to get started in gardening and encourages them to grow their own plants and produce. Thanks to these easy tips, gardening no longer has to be an expensive hobby.

In fact, if you garden and grow your own food, you could save $600 on produce.

Gardening consistently has long-term health benefits. Recent studies have shown that gardening is not only good for your physical health, but it also benefits your mental health. People who garden regularly report lower stress levels and increased self-esteem.

Growing your own fruits and vegetables also helps reduce your impact on the environment: the more food you grow and consume in your garden, the less reliant you are on mass-produced produce sold in grocery stores and shipped around the world.
