Alabama State Parks to add 12 pollinator gardens with grant funding

The grant will be used to develop pollinator gardens in 12 parks across the state.

The Alabama Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council presented a $25,000 grant to Alabama State Parks during the Pollinator Festival held Friday at Oak Mountain State Park (OMSP). The grant will go toward the development of pollinator gardens in 12 parks across the state. “We are extremely grateful to RC&D for funding this project, which will create a new interactive experience for state park visitors to enjoy,” said State Parks Director Greg Lane. >> Local, state and national: WVTM 13 coverage of politics The grant-funded pollinator gardens will be installed in the following parks:Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Wind Creek State Park in Alexander City, Lake Pointe State Park in Eufaula, DeSoto State Park in Fort Payne, Joe Wheeler State Park in Rogersville, Lake Guntersville State Park in Guntersville, Cheaha State Park in Delta, Chewacla State Park in Auburn, Roland Cooper State Park in Camden, Meagher State Park on Spanish Fort Lake, and Lureen State Park in Coker.
