The group Construyendo Poder hosts therapeutic massage and herbalism clinics for members of the Latine group in Durango.
On a current afternoon, Wendolyne Omaña hosted the group’s first clinic of the 12 months. She is Poder’s founder and a licensed therapeutic massage therapist. Latine group members have signed up at no cost therapeutic massage periods, and Omaña had a room ready with a mattress, towels, and oils.
“I’m an immigrant myself, I went to the ESL lessons myself, so I’ve merged into the group totally,” stated Omaña.

“It is a grassroots group. Omaña used to work with an area activist group centered on immigration points, and now she has transitioned to therapeutic.

Kate Husted, Construyendo Poder’s herbalist, is blissful to offer out free teas and salves in her non-public periods.
