Callicoon, NY — Join author Carolyn Summers for a talk on gardening and nature on Tuesday, July 30th at 5pm at the Western Sullivan Public Library Delaware Free Branch.
Summers, who co-authored the book “Designing Gardens with Plants of the Eastern U.S.” with Kate Brittenham, will speak about recent research that reveals the many ways in which native plants form the base of the food web that supports healthy, pollinator-rich landscapes.
The slide presentation will focus on interactions between insects and the plants they need, and Summers will offer suggestions for making yards more beneficial and hospitable to insects and other wildlife, and will also provide an opportunity for questions and discussion.
The library is located at 45 Lower Main St.
