The 33-year-old former Arsenal player and England Under-21 international retires at the end of the 2022-23 season after helping Luton Town win promotion to the Premier League.

After leaving Luton, instead of searching for a new team, he started a new career involving his passion for the lawn, showcasing his work on his Instagram page, “The Lawn Lad.”

The former Arsenal midfielder began his career in north London, where he was highly rated as a youth player and was promoted to the first team under manager Arsene Wenger.

But now he's taken to social media to show off his latest creation with his new pride and joy.

The player in question is Henri Lansbury, who made eight appearances for Arsenal before going on to play for Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Bristol City, and making 17 appearances for England Under-21.

He was last seen as part of the Luton team that gained promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in June but has decided to take his career down a different path following the expiration of his contract at Kenilworth Road.

He previously came up with a new formula for fertiliser and revealed his desire to give back to the football world in the form of grass before heading to Monaco to work on the French side's pitch.

Speaking to talkSPORT, former Arsenal youngster Lansbury revealed his plans and excitement to make the move across Europe.

During his career he also played for Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and the England Under-21 team.

“It started when I was stuck at home during the first lockdown and got really into gardening,” Lansbury explains. “I sprayed the weeds with toxic chemicals and spread toxic fertiliser, and my wife wasn't too happy to see the kids running around on the grass straight away.

“When I tried to shoo them away, she said, 'Why don't you make organic fertilizer?'

“Me and my teammates put our heads together and the boys stepped up and took it to a new level.”

“I want to give back to my local club and give them a good pitch to play on. There's nothing better than a kid running on a pitch with stripes on it and it helps to erase the stripes.”
