Monty Don has had fans reacting after sharing some exciting career news. Best known as the presenter of BBC's Gardener's World, the gardener is set to embark on a national tour, The Audience with Monty Don, which will see the TV star and master gardener share anecdotes about his career.
Monty posted a video filmed from the garden of his Herefordshire home, revealing that he'll be making a special appearance at London's Kew Gardens before setting off on his tour. “I'll be appearing at Kew Gardens to talk about the garden that I've created over the last 30 years and the many gardens I've visited around the world,” said the 68-year-old. “Then I'll be touring in November, visiting towns and cities all over the UK and Ireland, so please come join me then – I'm very much looking forward to seeing you there.”

While most fans were overjoyed at the news, some were a little disappointed that certain stops were missing from the tour list.
“Shame you can't come to Northumberland,” one wrote, while another added: “No one in Northern Ireland!”
However, not all of Monty's fans were disappointed, with many sharing their excitement for the upcoming tour. One fan wrote: “I booked it last year and can't wait, Monty!”, while TOWIE star Gemma Collins added: “Can't wait.”
Monty has gained a loyal following over the years thanks to his role on Gardeners' World, with the presenter first taking on the role of host of the long-running show in 2003, replacing Alan Titchmarsh.
Earlier this year, the gardener addressed speculation about his future on the show, revealing during an appearance on The One Show that Monty intended to host the show for “at least another three years”.
“All things being equal, and unless I make some terrible mistake, I intend to continue for at least another three years, including this year,” Monti said after dispelling rumors he was about to resign.
His comments came after he told Times Radio that giving up Gardeners World to save energy for other projects was the “logical choice”.
“The serious thing is, I'm going to be 70 in two years,” he said at the time. “I want to keep going. I love making TV shows, I love writing books, and I want to have the energy to do it and not just hustle, but always be hustling.”
“Having the energy to do so, and not trying desperately but always feeling like I'm trying desperately. I think I'd have to give up on things, but I'm not going to give up on writing. I really enjoy travelling,” he continued, “so the only way I could give up that would make sense is Gardener's World. Gardener's World, for all its merits, is a relentless treadmill.”
